Extending exam time
Olim/tourists students who have been in Israel up to 7 years from the date of Aliyah, are eligible in all degree programs for a 25% extension on exam time (up to 30 minutes overall per exam) and with no penalty for spelling errors. To obtain a letter confirming test accommodations please contact the Department for Olim. Requests are to be sent via email to: nili.meir@biu.ac.il.
Accounting students only: In addition, Olim students/tourists, up to 10 years in Israel from the date of Aliyah, are eligible for a 30-minute time extension overall for each section of exams in accounting certificate studies. A letter confirming test accommodation will be granted by the Department for Olim.
Exams and Academic Assistance:
Translation of exams
Students who are Olim/tourists who have been in Israel for up to 7 years from the date of Aliyah, and who are in their first year of their bachelor’s or master’s degree and have not taken a degree in Hebrew before, are eligible for translation of their exams into English. Each student is eligible for translation of up to four exams per semester. Exercising this right is conditional on approval by the instructor. Translation requests are to be applied through the Inbar System under "Requests and Approvals" (formally "Administrative Requests"). For further information, contact the Department for Olim in the office of the Dean of Students. To obtain authorization for a translated exam, contact the Department for olim in the Office of Dean of Students nili.meir@biu.ac.il.
Students taking an exam translated into English are not eligible for extended time on that exam. Request for exam translations must be submitted two weeks prior to the exam date
Tutoring:
Immigrant (olim) students receiving academic financial assistance from Minhal Hastudentim of the Ministry of Aliyah are eligible to receive 10-hour semester lessons per semester at a subsidized rate. Request for a tutor should be submitted at the beginning of each semester. Request forms may be obtained through the Dept. for Olim email: nili.meir@biu.ac.il.
בחינות ועזרה בלימודים
הארכת זמן בבחינות
סטודנטים עולים חדשים/תיירים, עד 7 שנים בארץ (ע"פ תאריך העלייה), זכאים להארכת זמן של 25% מזמן הבחינה ולכל היותר 30 דקות לבחינה, בנוסף להתעלמות משגיאות כתיב, בכל התארים. לקבלת האישור יש לפנות למדור עולים ורווחה. בקשות יש להפנות לדוא"ל: nili.meir@biu.ac.il
סטודנטים עולים חדשים, עד 10 שנים בארץ, זכאים להארכת זמן של 30 דקות גלובליות לכל חלק בבחינות בלימודי תעודה בחשבונאות. האישור יינתן ע"י מדור עולים ורווחה.
תרגום בחינות:
סטודנטים עולים חדשים/תיירים, עד 7 שנים בארץ (מתאריך העלייה), הלומדים בשנה א' בתואר ראשון או בשנה א' בתואר שני, ושלא למדו תואר קודם בשפה העברית, זכאים לקבל תרגום של בחינות לשפה האנגלית. כל סטודנט זכאי לתרגום של עד 4 בחינות בסמסטר. מותנה בהסכמת המרצה. תהליך הבקשה לתרגום מבחן דרך מערכת האינ-בר תחת "פניות מנהליות".
סטודנט שמקבל בחינה מתורגמת לאנגלית לא זכאי להארכת זמן באותה הבחינה. בקשה לתרגום מבחן חייב להיות שבועיים לפני מועד המבחן.
שיעורי עזר:
סטודנטים עולים המקבלים סיוע כלכלי אקדמי ממינהל הסטודנטים ממשרד העלייה וקליטה זכאים לבקש שיעורי עזר עד 10 שעות לכל סמסטר בתעריף מסובסד. יש להגיש בקשה בתחילת כל סמסטר. ניתן לקבל טפסי בקשה דרך מדור עולים ורווחה במייל: nili.meir@biu.ac.il
