Extension of time on exams
New Oleh\Olah students (up to 7 years in Israel, determined by the Aliyah date listed on the Immigrant Certificate/Teudat Oleh) studying for all degrees are entitled to a time extension and the disregard of spelling mistakes on exams:
- Definition of time extension: 25% of the exam duration, up to a maximum of 30 minutes per exam.
- English-speaking New Olim students studying in English-language programs are not entitled to the time extension.
- New Olim students studying in the Department of English Literature and Linguistics or in language courses (with the exception of English as a Foreign Language) are not entitled to a time extension on exams.
- New Olim students who request translation of exams are not entitled to a time extension.
- Accounting Certificate studies (not Economics-Accounting degree): New Olim students who have been in the country for up to 10 years are entitled to a global time extension of 30 minutes for each part of the exam

- How can I check if extension of time on exams have already been updated for me?
It can be checked in the In-Bar portal under "לוח בחינות". The time extension appears as a comment/note under the exam schedule. An example can be seen here:

- + 7 years have passed since I made Aliya, but I still feel like I need extension of time on exams. What can I do?
A new immigrant for whom more than 7 years have passed since their Aliyah date may request an extension of their eligibility for extra time. Each request must be submitted to the Olim Department, accompanied by an Immigrant Certificate (Teudat Oleh) and a brief explanation for the request. It can be sent to: Nili.Meir@biu.ac.il
